This is the project website for the Glades Reservoir Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). This website provides background information on the proposed project, associated EIS documents, and information on the project scoping process and public involvement activities. Progress of the tasks associated with the EIS will also be provided on this website.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (the Corps), Savannah District, is reviewing a permit application submitted on June 10, 2011 for a proposed water supply reservoir (“Glades Reservoir”) to be located on Flat Creek in the Upper Chattahoochee River Basin in Hall County. The application is for a Department of the Army Permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. 1344) which regulates the discharge of dredged or fill material into waters of the United States. The “Applicant” is the Hall County Board of Commissioners, Hall County, Georgia.
In order to fully evaluate the Applicant’s proposal, an EIS will be prepared to determine the effects of the proposal on the human and natural environment.
